  • Sinah – “Just OK”

For as many prolific electro-pop artists as there are these days, few manage to create music that highlights both their natural talent and learned skill. SINAH (pronounced Xena), with roots in London and Berlin, has found this balance in her debut single, “Just Ok.” Her prowess as a producer is evident in her decisions to hold back where other artists might add more. Ever tasteful and refined, “Just Ok” is heavy on beats, high on simple melodies, and held together by the barely-there, strong-yet-smooth vocals of SINAH. If you just can’t get enough, her remix of Alt-J’s “Breezeblocks” is another taste of what she can do.

  • Greg Holden – “The Lost Boy (Sons of Anarchy:  Season 5, Episode 4)”

  • Navvi – “Weekends”

Last week, we got our first taste of Seattle’s NAVVI. “There’s two of them – one provides the dark-as-hell backing, the other hushes and prowls like a night panther. Kristin Henry’s vocals are crucial, but it’s the stirring, sordid atmosphere put together by Brad Boettger that really makes ‘Weekends’” (DIY). Download that for free below, along with its B-side, “No Lights.”

  • Steffaloo – “You’re Not There”

Steffaloo‘s second album, Heart Beatsis out officially out today via Mush Records—and now we get to hear her collaboration with UK producer Stumbleine. It’s a beautifully dense and drifting composition perfectly accompanied by Steph’s wispy vocals. The two already proved their collaborative magic with their cover of “Fade Into You,” so it’s no surprise they’ve conjured it again.

  • Running In the Fog – “Desire”

Running in the Fog is the name of the solo project from San Francisco-based artist Amanda Harper, who makes dreamy electronic pop and R&B that packs a punch. Her latest track Desire saunters into life on a beat reminiscent of Solange’s Losing You, but following the lead of her soft-yet-strong vocal and with the addition of some organic percussion and synth flirtation, it becomes a densely layered pop song with a life of its own.
